Meet Dr. Eggleston
Todd I. Eggleston, D.D.S.Dr. Eggleston, from Kerrville, Texas did his undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University graduating with a Bachelorate of Arts in Zoology (animal science). Subsequently, Dr. Eggleston attained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Eggleston then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program (internship) as a member of the U.S. Army at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. Following completion of this one year residency, Dr. Eggleston completed an overseas tour of duty as a captain in the U.S. Army; he was decorated several times, and was honorably discharged in 1994. In 1994 Dr. Eggleston began a residency in oral & maxillofacial surgery at the prestigious Mount Sinai School of Medicine & Hospital in New York City. |
During this rigorous residency program, Dr. Eggleston received his medical training rotating with medical residents and medical students providing patient care in several medical disciplines including anesthesiology, internal medicine, general surgery and surgical intensive care. Additionally, Dr. Eggleston received his training in surgery of the face, jaws & mouth from some of the best oral & maxillofacial surgeons, head & neck surgeons and plastic surgeons in New York City. The broad scope of training included extensive exposure and training in cleft lip and palate correction, orthognathic & cosmetic surgery of the face as well as complicated facial reconstructions and severe facial trauma. Aside from 2 to 3 days per week in the hospital operating room, routine clinic cases commonly included typical surgery of the jaws for teeth and tooth related problems, dental implants & bone grafting, pathology of the mouth and face and less complicated aesthetic procedures of the face (i.e. eyelid surgery or liposuction under the chin). Following completion & certification as an oral & maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Eggleston continued to live in New York and practiced office based surgery for 2 years in private practice. Moving back to central Texas in 2001, Dr. Eggleston is pleased to have the opportunity in Austin to provide exceptional care with state of the art equipment. |
